Privacy and Local Data

How Orbital keeps conversation data local and under user control.

Orbital is designed around data sovereignty.

Orbital data stays 100% local unless the user explicitly chooses to share specific content outside the local machine.

The two user-controlled sharing paths are:

  • The user chooses to share selected Orbital data with a chat platform as memory, prompt context, or another user-controlled injection.
  • The user chooses to share selected information with RightMinds help staff for troubleshooting.

Conversation capture, thread preservation, and embedding-based detection are local-first. Orbital does not require sending conversation content to RightMinds or an external AI service for default detection.

Local-First Does Not Mean Invisible

Orbital shows when data is:

  • Captured from a platform page.
  • Stored in the local Thread Library.
  • Rebuilt or refreshed.
  • Exported.
  • Prepared for memory use.
  • Sent anywhere outside the local machine by user choice.

Exports

Exported JSON, Markdown, and PDF files may contain sensitive conversation content. Treat exports as portable records of the selected data.

Future Optional Services

Any optional external analysis or synchronization feature is opt-in, documented separately, and controlled from Settings.
